How to open a Minecraft Bedrock server to friends

Run Bedrock Dedicated Server on your computer, create a UDP tunnel to localhost:19132 in ProximaClient and give your friends its address and port. Bedrock works over UDP only: it won't see a TCP tunnel. No public IP and no router setup needed.

ProximaClient doesn't create Bedrock servers: you download and run one yourself. The app itself creates servers for Minecraft: Java Edition and other games.

The server and the tunnel

  1. Download Bedrock Dedicated Server from the official Minecraft page, unpack it and start it. By default it accepts connections on port 19132.
  2. In ProximaClient, open "Tunnels" and click "Create tunnel". If you already have tunnels, it's the "+" button above the list.
  3. Set "Protocol" to UDP.
  4. In "Destination address", enter localhost:19132, or the port from the server-port line of server.properties if you changed it.
  5. Click "Create tunnel".
  6. Once the address appears, copy it with the copy icon next to it (tooltip "Copy public address"). It looks like 203.0.113.10:41234.

How friends join the server

In Minecraft on a phone or on Windows, your friends open the servers tab and add a server of their own. Bedrock takes the address and the port in separate fields: the address field gets the part before the colon (203.0.113.10), the port field the number after it (41234).

Their game version has to match the server's. If your friends can't get in, open "Friends can't connect".
