How to create a game server in ProximaClient

Create a game server in ProximaClient: pick the game, the build and the folder, and tick the public tunnel. The app downloads the server files; once the install finishes, start the server, and your friends join at the tunnel address.

Steps

  1. Open "Game servers" and click "Add server" (or "Create server" if you have none yet).
  2. At the "Game" step, pick the game and click "Next".
  3. At the "Build" step, pick what the server runs on and click "Next". Sven Co-op and Garry's Mod have a single build, so this step doesn't appear for them.
  4. At the "Setup" step, fill in "Server name" and "Install folder". Tick "Create a public tunnel for this server": the server gets an address for your friends. The tunnel needs a ProximaMP account.
  5. Check the summary on the right: the folder and the build can be changed later only by creating the server again. Click "Start server" and the install begins.
  6. Once the install finishes, click "Start".

Check it: after the start, the server header shows the tunnel's external address. That's the address you send to your friends.

If you already have a server

On the "Game servers" screen, click "Import", pick the server folder, check the name, core and version, and click "Import server". For now, import works only for Minecraft servers. Import creates no tunnel: create one on the "Tunnels" page, TCP to the server's port, as on the start page, and the address shows in the server header.
