"this proximamp is too old for ProximaMP: update it"

ProximaMP no longer works with this version: update proximamp. The exit code is 7.

What to do​

  1. Update the program the same way you installed it: how to update proximamp.

  2. If the service reports the error, move it to the new version (on Windows, without sudo, in a terminal opened as administrator):

    sudo proximamp service install -c proximamp.yml

    The apt or dnf package updates the service by itself. If sudo answers command not found (why), type:

    sudo env "PATH=$PATH" proximamp service install -c proximamp.yml

  3. Restart the commands that were running before the update: they stay on the old version.

Check it:

proximamp version
npx -y proximamp@latest version                   # without installing
docker compose exec proximamp proximamp version   # Docker Compose
docker exec proximamp proximamp version           # docker run

It prints the new version, and the command that reported the error works.
