"not signed in: run proximamp login"

This computer has no sign-in to a ProximaMP account, or it has ended: sign in again with proximamp login.

The same answer comes in other forms: "the sign-in has ended: run proximamp login"; a running tunnel says "The sign-in has ended; the tunnel stops at its next reconnect. Sign in again: proximamp login", and a tunnel closed by a sign-out says "the tunnel was closed: this computer signed out of the account". The exit code is 3.

What to do

  1. Sign in:

proximamp login # with the password
proximamp login --remote # on a server without a browser: with a code from your phone
proximamp login --key-stdin < key.txt # with nobody there: with a device key
docker compose exec proximamp proximamp login --remote # Docker Compose

In PowerShell, give the key from a file like this:

    Get-Content key.txt | proximamp login --key-stdin

How to sign in with a code from your phone and with a device key is on the page about signing in on a server, and for a container started with docker run, on the Docker page.

  2. If the service reports the error, sign it in (on Windows, without sudo, in a terminal opened as administrator):

    sudo proximamp service login

The service has its own sign-in, separate from yours. If sudo answers command not found (why), type:

sudo env "PATH=$PATH" proximamp service login
  3. If the sign-in keeps ending, check on a computer where you signed in with your password, VK ID, Yandex ID or a phone code whether this computer is in the account's device list:

    proximamp devices

A sign-in ends when the device is signed out of the account, when the password changes (that ends the sign-in on every other device), when the key it used is revoked or expires, and after 7 days unused.

  4. In Docker, keep the sign-in in the /var/lib/proximamp volume (How to open a server in Docker with proximamp): without it, every new container starts signed out.

  5. To keep proximamp up in a script waiting for a sign-in instead of exiting, add --wait-sign-in.

If that didn't help

Click "Ask a question" at the bottom of the page and include the exact error text and the output of proximamp version.
